Public Transportation - Is it for You?

Our latest family activity involved trying something new. Although Val and I don't spend a lot of time commuting, our married kids do with traveling to work, school, etc. We decided that in order to be responsible citizens we should try to become educated about the new options with public transportation that are available to us now here in Utah.

As we have traveled to different cities in the US, we have used the subway systems in Boston, Washington DC, and New York and appreciate what they have to offer. We organized the family and decided to take the Frontrunner from Woods Cross into Salt Lake. Then we got on TRAX and took it over to the Gateway for dinner and a movie. Travis and Liz took TRAX from Draper and met us at the Gateway. Here is our group after purchasing our Frontrunner tickets, waiting to board the train.

The Frontrunner was great. The cars are really comfortable and spacious. The entire trip from Woods Cross to the Gateway took less than 30 minutes. Wade is our resident public transportation expert and served as our guide on our adventure. It was very easy and quite enjoyable. Here we are having fun during the trip!

Some of the seats have tables which I think look perfect for a quick game of cards. Unfortunately, we didn't have any with us so Tara, Dan, Kelsey and Danny just had to smile and make the best of it.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Happy Fathers Day to Val!
Here's to the guy who works so hard for our family, traveling all over the country so that we can "live in the manner to which we have become accustomed." Val, we appreciate you so much. Thank you for all you do for our family!
Grandpa Val had a fun Fathers Day as a first-time grandpa. As you can see, he loves our little Bayluchi and she loves him.

Summertime is Here!

Now that it's summer (YAY) Travis decided that we should take Baylee to the Farmington Pool. We all thought it was a great idea so the whole family suited up and headed over. Baylee was so excited to wear her cute new pink bikini.

Travis and Liz bought her this cute ladybug floatie complete with sunshade. We all had such a good time pushing her around in the water and laughing at her reactions and expressions. Being grandparents is soooooooo much fun! Of course, all our friends told us it was, but I guess you just have to find these things out for yourself.

Baylee and Grandma had such a good time!

Travis and his little dolphin.

After her fun afternoon Baylee enjoyed a cherry sno-cone and a snuggle with her Uncle Wade.

Wedding Time!

May was a wonderful month, as we celebrated Wade and Shayla's wedding. We had a wedding dinner the night before at Oakridge Country Club. The dinner was so yummy and we had such a great time celebrating with our family and friends.

The next day they were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Shayla looked beautiful and Wade looked so handsome. Here is our first look at Mr. and Mrs. Wade Steed. Aren't they a great looking couple?

The reception was held at the Grand Ballroom in Bountiful. Check out the proud grandparents with their adorable little flower girl. We had such a great time celebrating, greeting friends and family and, of course, dancing (you know the Steeds!)

The Girls!

The Guys!

March Madness

You might have noticed that I haven't posted for a while. I am trying to turn over a new leaf, but right now I will make several posts just to bring this blog up to date.
Every year we all gather for our annual March Madness Tournament. Travis goes to a lot of trouble to set everything up. Shauna cooks all day for everyone (and if I do say so myself, we eat really well!) All the guys are having fun watching the games!
This year we did something different for the girls. We had a 3-day scrapbook fest! It was so much fun. The girls loved it because they had fun while the boys were engrossed in the games. Here are Shayla, Liz, Tara and Lara working hard on their pages.
Here is our March Madness Mascot, dressed in her full Shamrock-Wear. Isn't she the cutest thing you've every seen? Baylee loved her first tournament. She can't wait for next year!
