Lately a lot of my friends have said to me "I saw your blog the other day, it's so cute!" Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my blog. However, part of the fun is reading the comments that people leave and none of the people who tell me they look at my blog leave comments. It's so easy to do. Just click on the "comments" line at the bottom of he post. It will take you to a screen where you can read all the comments that are posted. You can leave your own comment. If you aren't a registered Google user, just click on "sign up here" and then you can enter your email address and password. Also to my friends who say they have started a blog but never post - please, please start posting. It's a fun way to keep up on what everyone is doing in this crazy world we live in. I would love to check in on your blogs and promise I would leave a comment!

Our New Deck!

Perhaps it was because of my threats to pour
gasoline on our deck and set it on fire, Val decided to tear apart our old deck and build a new one out of Trex. Trex is an awesome new building material that needs NO MAINTENANCE. We will never have to sand or stain our deck again! Tearing apart the old deck was a big job and Travis, Wade and Dan were a big help to Val. They also helped in the construction of the new deck. Kelsey served as Val's construction assistant. I stayed in the house where it was air conditioned. I love the end result - it is beautiful! Thank you Val for all your hard work.

I Love Legacy !

The new Legacy Parkway opened on September 13. Val, Kelsey and I took a Sunday drive to try it out. My evaluation - WONDERFUL ! It is a much-needed, beautiful stretch of highway from Farmington to I-215. I can't believe that it's completion has been postponed for so long.
On Monday I took Val to the airport and we used Legacy. The traffic moved smoothly, and we got to the airport in record time. I was back home before I knew it. Coming home from Idaho on Monday afternoon (5:45 p.m.) I used Legacy. There was no traffic. I could see northbound I-15 moving smoothly and without backup. I couldn't believe it. As you can tell, I'm very excited about this road. Finally - driving in Davis County is not torture any more!
Today I took my bike out to try the biking/running trail that runs adjacent to the highway. It is GREAT ! Our area has been in need of something like this for many years. I saw people biking, walking, and running. There were workers all along the path working on landscaping, finishing touches, etc. This is going to be an amazing thing for our area. Try it out - you'll be hooked, too!

Football Fun

Last weekend, Grandpa Val and I decided we needed a little Baylee time. We picked her up from her parents and took her out to dinner and to the football game with us. It was so much fun! She stood on my lap the entire first half and watched the game and the cheerleaders. She would clap her hands and shake her arms and yell every time the cheerleaders would cheer. It was the funniest thing ever! She loved watching all the excitement and was such a good girl. She never cried or fussed even once. I can't believe we have such a perfect grandchild. We will definitely do this again! Baylee and Aunt Kelsey at the game

Photo Shoot

Last week, the Vykelles went to Red Butte Garden for their photo shoot. I got to go along as a chaperone because Bon and Tara weren't able to ride the bus with the girls. While I was there, I helped out as the shoot photo designer, placing the girls in the shots. It was so fun and I really enjoyed getting to know the girls a little better. Of course, there was the normal silliness. Here are a couple of shots of that!

Kelsey, Kailey, and Whitney. These girls have been together since 9th grade cheerleading and now for three years together as Vykelles. We call them "The Three".

We also took this opportunity to take a few
mother-daughter shots.
How was I so lucky to have such beautiful girls?

Home Improvement

Since I have worked so hard to make my kids' homes cute, I decided that my own home needed some serious work. I decided to start with my laundry room. I wish I had taken some "before" photos. I checked some design sites on the internet and they suggested that since the laundry room is a room that not many visitors see, it was a room that you could have a lot of fun with. They suggested bright, fun colors and I took their advice. The color I chose is called "Utah Sky". It is such a bright, happy color. I really like the way the room turned out. I have never minded doing laundry too much, but now I love being in my pretty, blue laundry room!

I really like this part of the room, especially
the picture over the sink.
I love this vinyl saying! I found it on the internet. The wall is actually the same lovely blue as the rest of the room. I don't know why it looks so weird in this picture.

Cousins are the Best

Right before school started, I took a quick trip to the Bay Area to attend my cousin Carol's daughter Kerri's wedding. I rode down with my parents and my sister. It was just like old times, the family vacation with the four of us in the car. Val met us there as he was already in the area on business. We attended the wedding and reception, visited with Steve and Barb (Val's nephew and wife) and spent time with my favorite cousin Blake.

He is absolutely one of the funniest people I have ever met and I could talk to him for hours on end. It was so good to see him again and to visit with him and my aunt and uncle, Roma and Boyd. It was a great weekend getaway.

Raegan and I celebrating at the reception. Don't worry, it's only sparkling cider!

Aren't the colors pretty? I loved the
decorations.
